Walk, Crawl, Run: Duck Walk

The Duck Walk

Way back in my youth select baseball days, we went through about 20 minutes of conditioning work at the end of every practice. The very first practice I ever went to ended with 4 50 meter duck walks. Four days later, I could barely get in and out of bed, let alone properly play catcher on the field. The duck walk was the cause of my first ever run-in with DOMS, and for that, this movement will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I think that's officially enough story time for today. Long story short with this one, make sure that you stay low. The lower you get, the more it works. Granted, your legs will feel like they're being eaten by a hundred million angry fire ants while you're doing it, but that pain is just the feeling of you getting stronger. For those of you who want and extra challenge, put your hands on your head, or even try it with your arms folded across your chest.
