Walk, Crawl, Run: Monkey Run

For the next few days, I'm going to be outlining some very much underutilized yet wickedly effective movements that can/most likely will end up making appearances in the WiscFit WODs in the near future. Today's edition...

The Monkey Run

If you search for "monkey run," you'll most likely get something that looks different from the prescribed movement in this video. A lot of those other different-looking movements are a little bit too similar to some of the upcoming posts. So, for our intents and purposes, and for the sake of differentiation, this is the official monkey run we're gonna stick with. Also, feel free to scroll to about 1:20 in the video to skip the unnecessary intro.

The monkey run is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. You put your hands out in front of you, grab the ground, and pull your feet around your hands to the side. You can alternate sides like they show in the video, or you can keep the monkey run going on one side. Either way, if you're doing it right, you'll start to feel it all over.
